ingredients:
4 large Granny Smith apples, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup (50g) granulated sugar
1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1 cup (90g) gluten-free rolled oats
1/2 cup (60g) almond flour
1/4 cup (50g) packed brown sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted
instructions
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking dish.
In a large bowl, toss the sliced apples with lemon juice, granulated sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg until well coated. Transfer the mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
In another bowl, combine the rolled oats, almond flour, brown sugar, and salt. Stir in the melted butter until the mixture is crumbly.
Sprinkle the oat mixture evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
Bake for 40-45 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown and the apples are tender.
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes before serving.
Serve warm, topped with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream, if desired.
